Posted by rose3700 on January 29, 2000, at 8:36:27

Hello, I started therapy a few weeks ago. My pdoc. put me on 250mg of zoloft, neurotin (to help boost the affect of zoloft), klonopin, and now zyprexa. I told him, through out the day i feel like a time-bomb ready to go off. He said, I suffer from major depresstion along with an anxiety disorder. (flashbacks from childhood) and i told them i do not want to remember.
please someone help me.
Thanks Rose

Hi, Rose.

A couple of questions. When you say you feel like a time bomb, can you give us some specific examples of what you mean? Is this a feeling that started after the medications were introduced, or did you feel this way before?

Also, tell us the sequence of how each medication was introduced, how much/when you dose, and any thing you noticed, positive or negative about each one. There are lots of smart folks here with tons of experience on lots of meds, so I am sure you will get some feedback.

Having traumatic memories you want to push away is a really tough state to be in, because it is a lot of work keeping those memories away. That in itself might feel like a bomb waiting to go off.

It is really good that you got yourself into treatment. Aside from the medication, are you doing some therapy to learn how to manage your anxiety?

Best wishes, and keep us posted.

Rose3700 - Yes, the meds will help you remember past traumas. The remembering of these traumas will help you to feel better in the long run as you face them and deal with them. Do you have a therapist to help deal with these? A therapist can be invaluable and essential in helping to cope.

We also can try to help you further when you answer the questions Noa has posed. Hang in there, therapy will help, but it can take some time. Good luck.
Cam W.
