I have been taking remeron at varying doses for the last year. Now I am trying to discontinue it and am down to 7 1/2 mg. Each time I try to cut this in half ( 3 1/2 mg ) I wake up the following day feeling VERY anxious, nauseated, and very tired thru the day. Has anyone else experienced this and does anyone have words of advice. Thank you all.

I also take Remeron. My pdoc tried to move me down from 30 to 15 mgs. one time and it made me very will. Are you switching from one SSRI to another, that can help ease the transition. You might want to take an anti-anxiety med to help you while you are trying to come off the Remeron too. I know how hard it is to get off some of these meds.

No I am not switching to another AD..I am trying to stop it altogether...I still take small amounts of Klonopin but the side effects still present themselves..especially the ANXIETY, nausea, and lethargy. I wonder if they will eventually subside and how long it might take. Any input and encouragement is appreciated. Thanks

I noted the same effect with Remeron.
Actually the low dose 7.5 obliterated the 50 Zoloft in a totally prosexual way.Remeron is peculiar - just drop from 15 to 0. It wears off in a day or two. If you have anxiety use Xanax in place of or in addition to Klonopin for a couple of days. The Xanax will antagonize the Remeron NE boost and promote serotonin as well.
No reason for a gradual taper from 15 - it will cause much more anxiety than it will help.
