Clonazepam..withdrawls

Posted by Robin David John on October 7, 2002, at 17:51:46

I have Been taking .5 mg of clonazepam since Aug 28..I started with 5 pills a day while I was in the Hospital for 6 days and then went down to 3 pills a day for 2 1/2 weeks as I was feeling better every day taking 30mg of Remeron..I cut down to one a day over the past week and a half ..and stopped altogether a couple of days ago...I have cold sweaty hands right now and feel cold ..not shivering cold ..but feel just cold ...

My question is does anyone know what type of withdrawls I can expect and how long they will last ...my Doc really couldn't tell me

Thanks

I've gone through Clonazepam withdrawal before. I had taken the drug for 2 years straight then just quit cold turkey. Ummm... you can expect the same thing as from quitting any major drug. Your body will hurt, you'll fiend for it because it is an addictive drug. But if you've ever quit any SSRI before, it's MUCH easier than that. You'll feel pretty horrible for about 2 weeks before you start feeling better.

But since you've only been taking the drug for about a month and a half, you're probably going to be alright.

I absolutely love Clonazepam as a Benzo to stop my panic attacks and to help me get through withdrawals from any of the other selective drugs I've been taking to try and cure my condition. Like all drugs you're going to have withdrawal, but honestly, it's not that bad and you'll forget what it feels like in a very short time.
