Hello -
I was wondering if any Provigil users had experienced headaches as a side effect? If so, how bad were they? Also, were you taking other meds? I had talked to my pdoc in the past about trying Provigil, but he was reluctant because of my frequent migraines. I'm seeing him again Tuesday and would like to ask about it again.
I don't know - sometimes I think my headaches are so bad I wouldn't even know if a medication was making them worse! And if it was, I feel so lousy anyway....<sigh>
Thanks!

> Thanks!Well I haven't taken Provigil (yet), but I find that pretty much any stimulant or stimulant-like drug gives me a headache - with the exception of caffeine. Particularly if it's a stronger one like Ritalin or Adderall. Effexor used to give me headaches a couple hours after a took it, probably due to the norepinephrine effect. A few aspirin took care of it though.
So... I can't say whether or not Provigil will definitely give you a headache, but it's certainly possible and frequently documented in the literature.

Snoozy. I love my provigil! But initially I did have some mild headaches. They are gone now, it was just a transient adjustment period. In my case, they were nothing compared to the benefits I have recieved.
Hope this helps with your decision.Donna
ps. I have had migraines also, fortunately not very often in the recent past. I know how horrible they are!

Sorry if you already read this; for some reason my posts aren't showing up.
I definitely get headaches from ProVigil, though they are diminishing after being on it for a few weeks. At first, they were pretty intense, though not migraines. Ibuprofin took care of them.
Best,
Matt

drink, drink, drink. in my experience, stimulants are dehydrating, which can cause headaches.

Matt, how is the provigil working for you? I am finding that 200mg doesn't seem to be enough. I have added another 100mg in the afternoon and am sleeping through that! I am still having some counteraction of the antidepressant apathy, which is the most important thing to me.
Thanks!Donna

I find that a headache is an indication that my dose is too high. I just back off the dose, and it goes away.
