Please, does anyone know of AD meds I should avoid if I have low blood pressure (dizziness, usually tired) and low blood sugar (must monitor diet, eat frequently, and so on)?
I'm especially concerned about Picamilon, which I will probably try on my own, and Duloxetine, which I've discussed with my Dr. and he will prescribe if it comes out any time soon. He already has me taking fairly high doses of several amino acids (1500mg phenylalanine and 1000mg tryptophan) but they don't seem to help. I won't take any SSRIs because I tried Paxil a few years ago and hated it.
Thank you for any information...

The only med I just heard from my pdoc the other day that is dangerous (at higher doses) with low blood pressure is not an a-d, but an a-p called Seroquel. I take it for sleep, not for a-p reasons. In the course of conversation, the pdoc mentioned that it interacts with low blood pressure, I think it actually lowers it even more.

I wouldn't worry about Picamilon or duloxetine, in fact I imagine duloxetine may raise blood pressure in some folks, similiar to the way Effexor does.

>I used to take Parnate, and my first day on it my blood pressure dropped to 80 over 35 (I kept thinking of all the movies and TV shows I had seen where a nurse says, "We're losing him, doctor. His blood pressure's continuing to drop"). It gradually rose from that point, but it remained below normal the entire time I was on the drug.
