Hey everyone --
so i've been taking depakote for a little over a month. it's working great, except for the annoying side effect of thinner hair and slower hair growth.
on the plus side, i can now spend less at the hairdresser's. :D
how can i minimize the hair loss effect? is there a supplement that would particularly help for this?
thanks,
--b.

You can try Biotin, Selenium and Zinc, but I eventually had to come off the Depakote because my hair loss was just too much, not to mention the weight gain (20 lbs)...sorry I don't have better news, but.....
My hair did eventually come back after I quit the Depakote. I still take the above mentioned supplements, and I now take Topamax (1 month now), which is another drug that causes hair loss, and so far (knock on wood) I haven't had any hair loss, AND I've lost almost 10 lbs. SO, give those supplements a try, especially the Biotin (at least 2000mg/day).
