Amisulpride or Mirapex ?

Posted by Rvanson on December 19, 2003, at 15:11:30

Hi folks,

I suffer from a depression/Social phobia complex.

Some meds help with depression but do nothing for Social phobia.

Question: which one of these meds would be better in my situtation? Does Mirapex help in SP as Amisulpride is said to do ?

Thanks for any replies.

Really hard to say. They have totally different action on dopamine receptors (Mirapex is agonist, Amisulpride antagonist). Amisulpride is what works for me for social problems.

As far as Mirapex - you can give it a try, although it's hard to pick dose enough to work. Too little might not work, too much can cause some problems (hypersomnia etc).

I'd go with Italian-made Amisulpride. Give it a shot for a month.

Take care,
Brad

Thanks Brad,

I have a line on some Amisulpride.

I hope it works as well as it has been said to.

I have had enough of American doctors handing out SSRI's like candy with tons of side effects and no relief, and not listening to patients requests for offshore meds that are not FDA approved.

Life is too short for that and I have done my studies.

Why Italian-made? A friend of mine was able to get amisulpride as Solian in Mexico, and it was made in Mexico by Sanofi-Synthelabo de Mexico. What is the difference between this and amisulpride made in Italy?

Thanks.

I guess there's no difference. Amisulpride is amisulpride, in any country probably ;-)
