I just read an article online about a very limited study in which the participants who were taking Zyprexa were given Amantadine and this reversed their weight gain problems measurably.
Anybody on Zyprexa familiar with this or using this strategy? Known side-effects of this drug combination?

> Anybody on Zyprexa familiar with this or using this strategy?Someone I know has used amantadine successfully to prevent weight gain while using Zyprexa. She had been on Zyprexa several times in the past and experienced weight gain, so that the amantadine prevented it most recently is significant.

If I were you I would "beg" for a prescription for the Amantadine....... Hopefully the MD you see wouldn't think that it could hurt you.
But remember,, quitting the Zyprexa could Be the worst thing at this juncture,, then its "find a replacement time" and that might never materialize . Whats your weight gain so far on Zyprexa.. are you working out hard?? Junk FOOD IS ALLOWED ! HAHA

Reboxetine or Strattera might help too. They both decreased my appetite and helped with fatigue. I also lost weight on Prozac in the past.
