When I take Effexor I have always wondered, what if I drink a pop with it, or consume something, would it effect the way that the drug is absorbed or does your body automaically seperate things in the digestive system no matter what you eat and drink together with an antidepreesant?

I've always taken it with food, to avoid stomach upset. I've not heard anything about needing to take it on an empty stomach for better absorption, as with some other meds.

I take it in the morning, usually with a piece of toast and jam. I leave for work early to beat the traffic and then have breakfast ast my desk later. I found that even 75mg of Effexor that I'm taking now didn't set that well on an empty stomach, though I can tolerate it if I have to, ie, it doesn't make my stomach upset.
