Wellbutrin effects noradrenaline more?

Posted by 1980Monroe on March 28, 2004, at 17:14:11

I've been on good old Wellbutrin for about 4 weeks now, am on 300mg XL. Yesterday while i was at the movies, i got that anxious feeling in my stomach, it was moderate. I blew it off thinking it was nothing, but im having it again today, its not bad actually, it seems to make me more "on edge" to do things that need to be done. I used to be so unmotivated, i fell into big debt, and lots of other things.

I've heard wellbutrin effects both dopamine and noradrenaline, but i think it effects more on noradrenaline, becuase it gives you that "edgy" feeling.

I take Dexedrine for ADHD, it has a calming effect but gives me just a feeling of well-being and motivation, but not "edgyness", and its Amphetamine!

My only therory is that dexedrine releases more dopamine than noradrenaline, that's why its more calming, well on adhd.
Would really like some feedback from people, adn experienced users.

Everything you said was correct. You find that with even more time that the edgyness wears off. It effects noradrenaline primarilay and dopamine secondarily.

OK you guys. I was having anxiety 24-7. Was on effexor, buspar, vistaril, nothing touched it. I took xanax but was so afraid of addiction that I only take it if I am totally freakin out. I started Wellbutrin last week, am now at 300mg per day. The anxiety has vanished.

I think that no one knows who will respond well and who will not - to any psychotropic medication. They just do not know why and how a med will work in one person and not another
