Hello. I'm new here, so if I make mistakes, please forgive me.
Is anyone here on seroquel or another similar med that does not have schizophrenia or bipolar? If this is too personal a question I am sorry in advance.
Thank you.

Hi Vortex, No I am not currently on Seroquel or any other of the "newish" atypical anti-psychotics . I am bi-polar. and no its not too personal. I have been on them in the past and one of the main reasons to be on them, at least for me was to help with sleep!
Don't feel afraid to ask questions around here-usually, I find that most things are not too personal or stupid. Better to ask and know than suffer and not know! :)

I am neither bipolar or schizophrenic. And yet my pdoc wanted to put me on a "mood stabilizer". Have been on a lot of different meds in the past. Finally, years ago, I did really well on prozac (other SSRIs worked for a while but then stopped helping). It helped with the depression and OCD. I finished school and got a job in my field of study.
Unfortunately this last year things started to go down hill. I just tried to "grit my teeth and bear it." As time went on, things just got harder and harder. Lot's of anxiety and depression, problems sleeping and so forth. Had a couple panic attacks at work. Even had a suicide attempt which obviously didn't work. When I woke up the next day, I knew I had to get some help again.
I went back to my old pdoc after my regular doc wanted me to go see a pdoc. She kept me on the prozac, but she did add seroquel. The only thing good that has come from this so far is that I was given a leave of absence from work for a month. I am so freakin' scared to go back though. Major stress!!
Sorry I started to really ramble here! So far I am not seeing any change, and the clock is ticking for me to return to work. I just don't know what to do.
Thanks for letting me vent. :)

I take seroquel for sleep. It helps.
