Has anyone experienced withdrawal symptoms from Zyprexa? Every time that I try switching to somthing else ( this time seroquil ) I can't take the anxiety after a couple of days. Is it me or the medications. I'm also on a low dose of abilify, but I don't think that all the anexiety and restlessness is from it. Perhaps I am wrong about that. The side effects of these meds are really hard to deal with, and withdrawal is even worse.

I'm back on the Zyprexa for now and feel ok. it's just all of the other side effects that it has. I may try cutting back later.

i love abilify now, but the switch over was a killer........ and i went slow and was taking quite low doses (5 mg zyprexa, 3.75 mg abilify)....
now i'm testing out 1.875 mg abilify and it seems to be the perfect dose... though i do miss the added motivation of the higher dose (akathisia?)

how do you cut the tablet that small? I'm guessing that you are starting with 15mg.

haha, it's tricky, and they aren't all equal size, but i figure the half life is long enough that it doesn't matter so much.... in fact i could probably just take 1/4 every two days ... but yeah... it takes a lot of time to put that 1/4 pill in the cutter so that it stays in position when the razor comes down :)

it almost sounds like a holistic approach to med threapy. truly though, I know what you mean about the half life. when I stopped abilify last fall it took about 6 wks for me to notice it had cleared my system. but all in all I do like some of the effects that it has.

I think the positives of zyprexa out weigh the side effects, at the right dose.

I use to use a kitchen knife and keep the pills dry with the mosture thing. Cuts best dry.

I read on another website that Zyprexa is a "feel-good" drug. Whatever, it has been a good drug for me (although I don't like thinking that perhaps I am dependant on it). Right now I'm back at 5mg with 7.5 abilify, which is what I usually took of either of them independanty, so I could probabaly lower the dose of each of them. The thing is that I'm getting along pretty much ok now and hate to do anything to upset the cart. I'll give it a day or so and see if I still feel like adjusting my dose. The past year has almost been continual med adjustment and I just want to get on with life. Thanks for your help, by the way. Not just with these posts, but with previous entries. I've been browsing this web site for awhile and it has been helpful both in content of ideas and in making me feel less alone in this struggle.

I want to understand this better too, bonus if I help others too. Thanks!
