Thyroxine for depression

Posted by cubic_me on October 11, 2004, at 5:34:19

I've just been prescribed thryroxine to take alongside my 150mg of Effexor XR (I'm not hypothyroid). Has anyone here taken it before? There isn't much info out there so I'd be really greatful for any replies.

I've been taking Cytomel for a couple of months now. It's similar to thyroxine -- they are both thyroid hormones. I haven't noticed much of a difference as far as side effects. I'm not yet sure if it's improved my moods.

I'm also taking Cytomel. I noticed an effect in just a few days. I still have plenty of ups and downs, but I'm not as bad as I was before.

If you haven't noticed any improvement by now you should talk to your pdoc about discontinuing it. It will affect your thyroid in the long run.
