Ive been taking ADD meds for a long time now, now I'm on Adderal XR. Anyway For the past couple years i've been diagnosed with social anxiety disorder as well as BP2...im on lamictal 100mg daily, not sure if its helping yet, and a high dose of xanax xr 3x daily.
As for the adderall, I had been on quite a high dose for around a month:60mg of XR in the AM, 30mg of XR at noon, and 20mg of short acting at 5pm. For a while it seemed to really help with making me more happy, outgoing, and social. But recently I noticed I was even more anxious than before, and a bit more depressed...I am testing this by lowering my adderall doses, and i think its helping alleviate the anxiety, but im not sure yet.
Would it be possible that it was helping for a while with that, (outgoing, more socialy comfortable), then turned quite the opposite?thanks

Hi...
Well, I have little knowledge of Adderall XR, as it has only been available up here in Canada for about 2 months. This is just IMHO (touch wood..heh), but after many months of use, I found Concerta to be the absolute most smoothest 'ride' of my life. Yes, over time it does 'tame' down a bit, but just in the edginess, but the deep impact it has on dopamine and other NT's stays right with you. It's like I don't really 'feel' it, but if I missed a dose or two...yes indeed...I WOULD feel it! I take it with Prozac, which helps re-regulate many problems Prozac caused. (well..I won't re-start until tomorow!) Seriously consider it, as once-a-day dosing (or even 2 a day if you somehow *feel* you need it) is a MAJOR treat. No countdowns until next dose..like you do with cigs or coffee. It may be a bit more pricey than the others, but it is *indeed* worth it.
Best of luck...and any questions please ask!
Best, Jay

Sure is possible and the tight facial muscles you describe is a common SE of D Amphetamine, Bruxism-is as well-grinding of teeth. Try lowering, instead of discontinuing the 110mgs of Adderall you take-If you can, I know how the demanding Dopamine system can be-when I was on methylphenidate It initially made me more social, energetic, then after some time I became intreverted, lazier and didn't want to go out and explore-the exact same effect as on Rats, althought I understand D-Amphetamine has oppisite Pro-social effects. Supplement with L-Tyrosine in the mornine too, to replenish Dopamine
Give It a try and see if its the Adderall, or did these probs start when you added the Lamictal? I know this Med can cause Anxiety in some people

I am surprised that you can be on such a high dose of Adderal. Gives me some hope since I am at 30 mg which I thought was the highest dose you could take.
