Anyone with experience on starting Nardil, I would realy appreciate your advice. After 20 days, I feel dumb and have been having some depressing thoughts lately (this is not why I starting taking Nardil - it was for anxiety) and I am not sure that I want to continue taking it.
I had such high hopes for Nardil, I don't want to stop before I given it a fair shake but this is getting intolerable. I have not had any improvement in my anxiety and have been fumbling for words, feeling really detached.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I haven't had any of the usual AD side effects which is GREAT but this other stuff is about to make me give up on Nardil, I have heard the side effects abate after a couple of weeks but it seems like I am pretty far in.

> -DanIf its any consolation....i failed on Nardil, like you i was very disappointed due to all the success stories, but i couldent lit to myself no more,i was getting no benifit.
On the plus side,i do however currently use parnate, and its initial effects were great!! So just keep in mind you can be a non responder to one of the Maois and respond to the other.

Hi Dan,
I would consider replacing Nardil with Parnate. Some people have good success using Parnate for anxiety but you may need to consider using a benzo for the first few weeks while you get used to it.

I have been taking 45mg (3x15mg) for about 2 weeks and was taking 15 - 30 mg for the first week.

That's a fairly low dose. I had to go to 60mg and many here need at least 75-90. I would consider raising it at least to 60mg before giving up.
Good luck,

Been on Nardil for 20 years.
Been very effective for me. Took 60mg for several weeks before started to feel the benefits.
This is the end of the thread.
