Effexor XR

Posted by Amazonannie on June 10, 2005, at 16:14:32

Effexor XR was really good for me. I had such bad anxiety and depression. I have been on it for 4 years now. I am weaning myself offo of it thought because I want to try Strattera and don't want to be on two meds at once.

I do find it funny that the drug makers say it is non habit-forming but it has to be if you get such withdrawals. I am sure many people keep taking it if they try to quit and feel awful.

I was taking three 37.5 mg pills per day. Then for 4 days I went down to 2 per day. Now, today I am down to one pill per day. I feel kind of out of it and weird. I am also nauseous. That could be from allergies and asthma though. My allergies have been acting up and my throat is scratchy. Scratchy throat+asthma hacking and you can get nauseated. Plus I have lots o' phlegm. :)

I will keep people updated. I am sweaty some too but I am used to that because I have always run hot and Effexor always made me feel even wamrer than usual. I am just hoping I don't dip into a depression.

Being a medicated person is nuts sometimes. :) You have this debate with yourself about whether you want to continue medicating or try something else or do nothing. "normal" people who do not need meds are LUCKY!!!!!! ::)
