Hey how are you all? i hope everyone is well. I havent been posting much lately as I have been trying to recover from my surgery. My jaw has (and is) infected, I was put on 1 course of Cephalexin, then 2 courses of Amoxycillin, now another two courses of Metronidazole.And guess what? I have to have more surgery now they tell me!!!!!! Gosh, who would have thought wisdom teeth could be so complicated. I see my faciomaxillary surgeon tommorrow about it. His nurse said its most likely a necrotised bone fragment that has to be removed or part of my jaw may need to be cut out and the gum sutchered. I hope I dont have to have another general anaesthetic.
Are there any faciomaxillary surgeons here at all??? :( I really need to talk to one! I dont trust my one.
Anyway, I'm also feeling very depressed at the moment. I started cutting myself again, which I havent done in years. Im kind of handling 150mg of Clomipramine, but its giving me a lot of side effects, the most bothering is the hot flushes.
Does anyone here get hot flushes on Clomipramine or any other TCA (all the TCA's have done this to me). And no, I'm not menopausal/postmenopausal as I am a 23 year old male lol.
Anyone here get hot flushes from menopause or postmenopause? I really can't stand the hot flushes. I really sympthasise with my Mother now who gets them all the time. I have to change my clothes all the time (even when its freezing) because I sweat so much now!! Ahhh its yukky lol.

Chris, I'm sorry about the surgery. But remember it's flashes not flushes. And guess what Ed and Rainbowbrite are getting married. I think Link is going to be the best man. Thanks Phillipa *hugs*. Actually, in Australia its called "flushes" you guys call it flashes in America though I guess. There are a lot of differences between British English and American English (Australian English is mostly British English).There are also differences between terminology. We mostly have the same medical terminology as the UK does. Hence "jail" is spelt "gaol", "color" is "colour", "Mom" is "Mum", "stabalizer" is "stabaliser", "ton" is "tonne", "check" is "cheque" .etc .etc LOL Ed and I had a big conversation about this and then I emailed him about an EKG instead of saying ECG which is what is said in the UK and Australia hehe.
Ed_UK is getting married? WTF? Ed, why oh WHY did you not email me about this! hehehe. Or is it another Ed? hehe. I will have to check this out!!! :)

YES! I had a lot of hot flushes when I was on lofepramine! I also sweat BUCKETS. It was really bad when I was on lofep + Cipramil. At the moment, I'm only on Cipramil but I'm still sweating loads. I walked home from the train station last Friday after I'd been out with Marc. Anyway, my shirt was soaked through by the time I got home. It was glued to my body. Also, the sweat soaks my hair and drips down my face. I'm worried how bad it's gonna be when I start work in the pharm. It was really bad last year, I was dripping sweat onto the counter and my shirt was soaked through. People used to look at me like I was dying of a serious infection or something. It was 100% embarrasing.

My mum doesn't get them anymore. She's on HRT at the moment. She swore she wouldn't take it but she felt like cr*p after her hysterectomy (for cervical cancer) so she went on HRT. She thinks it's great now!!

that sounds like me!! When I was walking home from the shops, it is only a 10 minute walk. My t shirt was so soaked with sweat it looked like someone poured a bucket of water over me!!! My psychatrist believes my sweating is from anxiety but i think it has to be the clomip, maybe its from both lolWas it really hot in the pharmacy when you were working or was it because you had to walk a lot and so on?

My grandmother had cervical cancer but she never went on HRT, I dont know why she didnt. They have offered HRT to my Mother but she won't take it.

It was pretty hot! There was a fan but it wasn't enough to keep me cool. I did have to walk around a lot because I had to stock the shelves twice a day.

She's fine. She had a course of radiotherapy last year. She goes for check ups every so often.
