Rasagiline, a selective irreversible MAO-B inhibitor will be available in the UK in the next few weeks. It will be sold under the brand name AZILECT for the treatment of Parkinson's disease. Rasagiline is similar in many ways to selegiline but lacks selegiline's amphetamine metabolites. Rasagiline may be useful in psychiatry in a similar manner to selegiline.

That is really interesting Ed!
I've heard about Rasagiline before, but didn't realise it was going to be launched in the UK.
How did you find out it was going to be released?

Hi Tom,

In the Pharmaceutical Journal. It comes out every Friday and there's a section called 'products' which lists new meds which have been launched that week.
This weeks products.......

Very interesting Ed.It is great that there is still research on MAOI drugs. It seems however that the principal reason of research is to control Parkinson disease. It would be great to have soon in the market more MAOI´s similar to Nardil or Parnate.
This is the end of the thread.
