Used it for years. In the 2, 3mg range for 24hour. Then it stopped reducing anxiety and just made me tired. now on valium and starting to get tired again. Fondly, Phillipa

I haven't. The amount I uses varies from zero to 0.5 mg. It hasn't lost any effectiveness for me. I go up and down depending on need (other meds, life stresses, etc.)

I've been on Xanax since 1991. I take generally 1-2 mg.'s daily, never increased it. Works great for short-term but I have to take Klonopin 1 mg to last longer than 3-4 hours, ya know?

God Bless!

I've taken Xanax since the early 1990s and for a few years gradually upped my daily dose to about 3 mg. Now, when taken with Neurontin, I only need between 1.5 and 2 mg. a day depending on my stress level, so I guess I actually need less now.
