Parnate, first day questions.

Posted by tygereyes on October 11, 2005, at 20:36:11

I have chills and I'm totally exhauted during the day (took my first nap in months, completely passed out). Do these side effects go away in time?

Are you going to be increasing the dosage?
Most people seem to get an afternoon exhaustion (myself included). Some people take Dexedrine or Adderall. Some take Modafranil (sp?). I don't know about the chills though. Hopefully at least those will go away. Some people split their dosage into two which I think helps with the afternoon fatigue.

I wish I could tell you for sure. It interesting, people always think of Parnate as the activating MAOI yet so many people get exhausted on it.

I was started on 30 mgs, and eventually will be going up to 60 mgs (perhaps higher). I take it in split doses at 7:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., and 1:00 p.m.

Is it more activating at higher doses?

I can't take stims because I'm a recovering drug addict, and also a recovering anorectic trying to stabilize my weight.

I don't think it will get worse at a higher dose. The Provigil isn't addicting. It is used for narcolepsy. There is one person who in recovery for anorexia on this board who is taking it and it even helps her depression.
