Hello,
i recently had a week long trial with remeron
15 mg. it made me way too sedated for my busy days
working full time and watching my 2 kids during the day.. the sedation stayed with me all day long and i started feeling NOTHING like i was losing all my feelings,,apathetic~~ i'd rather be depressed than an emotional rock{not feeling anything at all} so anyway i went back on my paxil which i was on previously and seemed to stop working for me, but i'm gonna try it again..
well my question is this.... I slept like adream on remeron and i have always had trouble sleeping and staying asleep and reaching deep rem sleep.
would it be harmful to me to take a low dose of remeron nightly as a sleep aid/ instead of my xanax.. i've been taking xanax at night to sleep for years now and i've always thought it was kinda stupid to take an anti anxiety med while your sleeping cause theres no anxiety while your sleeping anyway, so if i could switch the 1 mg. of xanax at bedtime with a very low dose of remeron(7.5 mg) would that be harmful with my paxil,, then i would just take the xanax during the day if needed. i wouldnt think that that low a dose of remeron would cause me loss of feeling
caring, concern etc. well anyone with any thought or help on this would be greatly appreciated thanx all!

Remeron is a very common sleep aid, and could boost the paxil effectiveness a bit too. Remeron is combined with many different antidepressants, usually for sleep, anxiety, or to boost effectiveness, or boost appetite.

Remeron tends to be *less* sedating and more effective at higher doses (30 or 45). I might give it another try with that in mind. Ask your doc for Provigil samples if the sedation is too much. That's my two cents anyway, it's up to you.
And yes, you can take Remeron and Paxil together.
