Effexor

Posted by Geneva on May 30, 2006, at 21:16:16

I tried just about everything. Zoloft, paxil, even prozak. Now I am on Effexor and have been for a couple years and Things are great!! Although I warn stopping too quickly taking this medication is unbelievably scary.

There have been a few times that I found myself late in picking up my perscription from the pharmacy and OMG I was useless. I got the electric shocks, the dizzy out of body experience thing and just about the whole list. I use effexor for an anxiety disorder not for depression and it clearly help me to keep those innocent people around me living a longer healthier life! LOL. My anxiety can get so bad that the sound of my own voice irritates me.

I fully recommend this medication as a long term plan to keep any ongoing anxiety problems at bay. However I do believe that my 75mg dose after several years is not lasting for as long as I would like it to. I intend to request my dose be increased at least by a bit to compensat for the additional anxiety I have gotten over life and career events occuring recently. I totally reccomend it if you want to get back your equalibrium and sense of normalcy back to your everyday life, Also I did not experience weight gain on this med either. And being a member of the "rounder population" I was worried. I worried for nothing.

Remember it can affect all people differently but give it a good month or 2 try before deciding to turn it down. By this time you will have been able to experience the relief of having a clear head and cool temper before moving onto something else.

Works for me Sign me up anytime

I'm glad you have a good experience with Effexor. For me, it was by far the worst medication I had ever been on. The side effects made life unbearable.

I wish you continued success on a medication that is "poisonous" to me! :D
