Ever had vivid dreams on Seroquel??

Posted by UgottaHaveHope on July 17, 2006, at 1:33:00

Man I am the most vivid dreams on Seroquel. When I first started taking the drug, it just knocked me out, pretty much no dreaming. Now I am having vivid dreams, which upset me when I awake. Any1 had this experience?

How much Seroquel are you taking?

I'll be interested to see the responses you receive.

I know someone who is taking 800mg. I'll see if I can get any feedback from her. I am interested to know if the vivid dreaming appears at the higher dosages.

My friend says that her dreaming has ceased completely on her current treatment regime.

SLS:
I am switching back between 200 and 300 mg per day. I imagine your friend, who is on 800 dose, is just flat-out knocked out.
What does your friend take it for? Anxiety? Stabilizer?

Hi Michael.

Nope. She's up at 5:30 AM and stays busy all day.

Some people find the higher dosages to be less soporific (sleep-inducing). However, I'm not entirely sure whether this is a dosage dependent or time dependent effect.

> What does your friend take it for? Anxiety? Stabilizer?

She takes it primarily as a mood stabilizer / anti-manic agent.

Yup. Very similar experience. It's the best sleep med I've ever tried, but the dreams are a bit much. Last night was the first pleasant one I've had thus far; usually they're pretty unpleasant, extreme violence being a common theme. The odd thing about these dreams is that I can still remember them weeks later - normally they're forgotten within hours.

If the Seroquel dreams are anything to go by, my psyche is pretty twisted.

How about Risperdal dreams, ? similar to Seroquel

I just started a ridulously low dosage of Risperdal, 0.25 mg, and the first night or two I woke up and had trouble going back to sleep. That only lasted a few days. Then I started having dreams that went back to remote events of my childhood, so remote it kind of freaked me out that I had these dreams. I saw it as a direct result of the Risperdal and the disruption of stored memory.

It reminded me of how many things are stored in memory that may never be recalled. And why don't I remember important things today, is my memory space filled up with this random, useless crap I can do without? Perhaps the Risperdal was actually eliminating those memories when I was dreaming them? I hope so since I need all the storage space available for current events.
