Did you gain any weight?
I had the choice of Ultram and Flexeril, Ultram made me psychotically depressed.

Flexeril if it is the same a Flexeral the muscle relaxant just made me stupid....My brain worked at the pace of a snail. I am usually a pretty rapid thinker so it was very annoying. I only took it for about three weeks for an injured trap muscle.

That's when I take it-at night.
hmmm Let's see, my expectations for taking Flexeril:
1) severe endometriosis
2) multiple fibroids
3) scar tissue (and that doesn't stretch....remember?)
4) slipped disk in my lower back
5) IBS
Is that enough for ya? Geez--you think I want to get 'high' off the stuff? That doesn't happen..
Typical expectations of a muscle relaxer is to help with inflammation and spasms of muscles.....what are YOUR expectations of taking Flexeril?

> I had the choice of Ultram and Flexeril, Ultram made me psychotically depressed.I have a cranial spasmotic and back reaction to dumping a benzodiazepine something like 11-12 years ago. I currently take Robaxin for it -- because I take a benzo, I wasn't allowed to take Robaxin's much stronger relative Soma.
I found Flexeril (cylobenzaprine) to be "yucky" -- it has a lot of anticholinergic activity and basically is a tricyclic. Some people get pleasure out of this. I guess this is an individual thing. Some states have made it a IV controlled substance apparently, although I don't see the mass potential for any abuse, but who knows. It does have the potential for atropine highs, I suppose, which are not a good thing.
I forget if I was allowed to take Skelaxin -- which is fairly powerful. Probably not.
I wanted to take orphenadrine (Norflex) for other purposes, its opiod like effect on depression but that was nixed by my doctor.
Oh, the other one I went through was Zanaflex (tizanidine) which didn't do much of anything. It is related to clonidine but I believe more targeted to its purpose and stronger.

====================================================================================================Really??? Hmmmm Did I say you were accusing me of anything? No I did not. So knock it off.
No kidding... Flexeril is a muscle relaxant, and it helps the PAIN associated with muscle spasms to RELAX the muscles.
Have a great night and calm down - for YOUR sake -not good for your heart :)
