I just want to clarify a few things, so heres a list of questions on nardil:
1)Does dosage have anything to do with your weight?
2)Has anyone experiencd orthostatic hypotension so bad it took away from the positive effects? This was after a increase to 105 mg's from 75.
3)They say all the side effects go away eventually, is this true?
4)how long should you stick on a dose if the previous had happened? was on 75 for 2 weeks when felt good effects in first place: mood, attitude, motivation increase, crazy euphoria, miss that! now back at the 75 for 2 1/2 weeks.
5) should maiximum dose always be reached, or can you increase, and go back, say if you felt good on 75, but went to 90 for so long and thought it was too high, as in does going up have anything to do with if the drug will effect you sooner?
6)what is a good augmentation? I hear lyrica, how long does that take to effect you? or stimulants?
7)does anyone have any good resources or articles on the maoi's with augmentation such as mood satbilizers or stimulants?thanks for any input.

1mg per kg of body weight is a general rule of thumb used for how much nardil to take. personally i couldn't get anywhere near that because of the orthostatic hypotension which kept leaving me in hospital. The hypotension was so bad at even 45 mg that i couldn't get out of bed.. i tried everything to get rid of it from taking salk tablets to eating tyramine rich foods to taking things like pseudoephadrine but nothing worked so i had to give up on nardil after 3 attempts of trying it. It never got any better after 6 months on it.. just lots of blacking out and ending up with very sore heads and broken objects around the house.

> 1)Does dosage have anything to do with your weight?I think it really depends on the person. I gained 40lbs in 1 year (around 90mg's/day usually). from eating too much, god it made me hungry.

This side effect was yerrible at first but went away after 3 weeks.
> 3)They say all the side effects go away eventually, is this true?
No! not in my experience. sexual side effects never got better. I kept gaining weight no matter what, always hungry. I looked drugged, everyone said.
> 4)how long should you stick on a dose if the previous had happened? was on 75 for 2 weeks when felt good effects in first place: mood, attitude, motivation increase, crazy euphoria, miss that! now back at the 75 for 2 1/2 weeks.
not quite sure what you mean..
> 5) should maiximum dose always be reached, or can you increase, and go back, say if you felt good on 75, but went to 90 for so long and thought it was too high, as in does going up have anything to do with if the drug will effect you sooner?
Max dose doesnt mean much if it will work or not. Starting at a high dose will definitely have the drug work faster because you will skip the time needed to titrate up. where should you start tho? thats the q
> 6)what is a good augmentation? I hear lyrica, how long does that take to effect you? or stimulants?
provigil works good and right away, lithium, lamictal. all three of those seemed to work well for me. esp lithium kept the nardil responce so very constant. provigil really energised me in a good way and was excellent for social anxiety.

Thanks man.
Just a few more things, have you tried lyrica? And does Provigal, lithim, lamictal, all act instantly, or as in with in hours, or does it take a while? guss I'm kinda looking for a quik fix now.
Once again thanks.

provigil works instantly. for people with anxiety it may be worse but if your on Nardil it should really brighten your mood and have your clarity and interests very spiked. prosocial for me. I ve been on many other ad's which did not help my anxiety and provigil made it worse, so i combined it with xanax and it was great as all things said above except xanax+provigil could be quite an addictive combo so i didnt do it much. instead i searched for a more long term med (not there yet)Lithium takes a week or more as you need to get to the right blood level of lithium, constant blood tests at first. usually does a good job at augmenting any AD and usually first to try.
Lamictal augments AD's aswell and has its own antidepressant effect which kicks in around 100mgs/day. this takes along time to work cuz you have to titrate slowly, 25-50mgs/week or you may get a life threatning rash. I crossed my fingers and went to 200mg's in 2 weeks. I did feel an antidepressant effect once over 100mgs. it was awesome. now i dont know what its doing. It has no side effects but the possible rash :)
200mgs of provigil in the morning should be good. and maybe another 100 at noon. maybe more.. who knows. on long trips i have had to take 600 mgs in split doses because nardil made me fall asleep at the weel after just minutes. that much provigil is very stimulating and i felt over the top. probably looked insane with teeth grinding ...
