luvox/fluvoximine

Posted by sam K on December 15, 2008, at 12:34:59

My two lower front teeth constantly have a feeling in them. An ache or soemthing. Im obsessing over it maybe? I seem to have lockjaw or something too. Maybe some grinding of the teeth also. I feel like my teeth are going to fall out.
On effexor I had terrbile grinding of the teeth. I dreamed a few nights about my teeth falling out. I spit them all in a sink and felt so terrible and felt the pain and emotions like it was real.
I look in the mirror and I think my teeth have moved. (distortion?) Ahhh so stressful sometimes. I hope this passes.

Gee Sam sorry I've had dreams of teeth falling out also but was before luvox. I've never experienced side effects aware of on luvox what is you dose now. Hope this goes away. Phillipa

What are you taking the Luvox for, OCD or depression ?

In any case, if you're having this in a non-dream state its called bruxism, grinding of teeth, which can occur even if you aren't taking medication due to anxiety.

A night guard would help eliminate this discomfort, a professional one made by a dentist is much more durable and comfortable than the OTC kits which in a pinch may help until you can get one from a dentist but doesn't measure up to the quality.

Have you discussed this side effect with your doctor ? I mean if the Luvox is still working well for you, you might want to continue on, it doesn't necessarily mean anything in particular and as noted a night mouth guard would help, but if its intolerable there are other SSRIs. Then again you also noted it on Effexor, so you may be sensitive to this reaction.

I use to get bruxism from al srri's, didn't mater which one I was on. Just an unfortunate side effect for some. Hey how did the morning trial of luvox go?
