I've been taking a generic Prozac tablet, but my pharmacy no longer carries it and now has capsules only. But within a week of starting on the new version, I seem to be losing the antidepressant effect. I assumed the new form would simply pick up where the old form left off, but it doesn't appear to be. I don't know whether this new form isn't working, or if it simply doesn't "blend in" with the form I was already taking and it's like I'm starting again from scratch. Has anyone else experienced this when changing from one generic brand or format to another?

See if you can switch to generic fluoxetine in liquid form! Always worked great for me - maybe because it absorbs better than a poorly-made capsule.

I would see if you can get your pdoc to write a "no substitutions" script for Prozac. I always found the brand name better than any of the generics.
