Gabapentin Headache

Posted by Frustratedmama on June 25, 2009, at 17:26:07

I have had a tension headache since starting the gabapentin (back of my neck to the top of my head). I lowered the dose to 100, 100, 200 and felt awful. So back up to 200 3x/day with better overall mood- yet this headache is a bit much! ANyone else experience this? DOes it go away? Also, a bit spacy still- forgetfull, hard to type, but again- Worth it if the calm remains. Will it? Anyone else use this?

Thanks!!!! Gives me hope as it really is helping some to calm- may need to dose 4 times a day versus three though- loses effectiveness at 4 hours......

I started taking it recently, and it actually cured my tension headache! ( used to have them nearly every day and took up to 10000mg ibuprofen a month, every month)no more ibuprofen needed for the time being. Downside= Gabapentin gives me pretty dire stomach problems, acid reflux, pain, etc. but it's a soft option compared to other anticonvulsants.( which I'm still too chicken sh.. to try) Gabap. also feels like a drug that could "poop out" at some point.
Good luck though.
