I thought it was considered not a very good antidepressants and just used more for sleep. Phillipa

It was the first antidepressant my GP put me on over 17 years ago and within 2 weeks I was feeling wonderful. However, it pooped out and I've been TRD ever since.

Jerry so your're thinking maybe a newer version could once again work for you? Seriously just never heard of it being solely used as an ad. Sorry it pooped out on you seriously. Love Phillipa

Of course it was used as an AD.... but probably not as much as tricyclics I'm guessing as I can't see how but a small responding group would benefit from it. You'd be totally asleep taking 600mg of Trazodone a day.
On the other hand when I was taking the yucky stuff for sleep, I did get used to the sedating properties somewhat and I found 50 became 100 became 150mg for sleep (and then you'd have to go back down and up again
