What's the interaction problem between Emsam patch and metoformin / glucophage? Anyone know of any other glucose-control med that is NOT new(=$$$) that insurance might cover?? Thanks!

I know there's an interaction-the question is=What is the possible dangerous side-effects of mixing the two!

I think what Phillipa meant to say was that NO interaction was found.
The EMSAM drug insert has no contraindication for Glucophage and no adverse reaction comes up when checking for interactions.

At the doc's office she checked it-there's something listed under "probable" interaction-enough where she won't prescribe Emsam as long as I'm on the glucophage...what a pain! I've tried finding it online myself...thanks!

Tried drug checker again both with glucophage and metformim and no interractions found so it's safe. So ask you doc if she's just not comfortable prescribing it? Any other meds your're on? Phillipa

Thanks for looking.....I get SO tired of this back and forth stuff between the docs, the DRUG COMPANIES,etc. etc. I know most of these posters know exactly what I mean. There was a recent posting on another thread from a young college girl that wanted to find the RIGHT MED-I didn't want to further depress her by writing that at age 55-I'm still trying to find the RIGHT MED. Sorry to get off on this rant! But I guess I needed to vent!!!I am so glad there's this forum with so many knowledgeable people to help-thanks all!
