For the last two weeks I have noticed a pattern in my sleep. I took a break from Zopiclone and was using Temazapam for a few days and then went back to Zopiclone. I didn't seem to matter which med I was taking my sleep goes something like this:
One night of no sleep
3 nights of being awake til 4 or 5 then sleeping until 10
Then the pattern repeats itself. I'm feeling pretty worn out..my pdoc is away until next week.Has anyone experienced this? If so, any suggestions how to get it to stop?
I was trying to wean myself from zopiclone prior to this, to see if I could sleep au natural..but looks that's not gonna happen.
I'm starting to get concerned, more so because of the pattern aspect to it.
Any replies would be greatly appreciated.

What other medications are you currently taking?

Hmm. I have a couple suggestions:
Adding low dose
trazodone or
doxapin or
amitriptyline or
seroquel or
cyproheptadineThe insomnia could very likely be paroxetine related. These meds might do a better job at counteracting paxil insomnia than the benzodiazapines.

Xanax worked for mine. Didn't know you switched to paxil. No more zoloft? Love Phillipa thinking withdrawal even though you went back on it maybe from the temazapam never took that.

Thanks Linkage. I have taken seroquel and may have to again. It just causes me to eat like a horse about 20 minutes after I take it. Trazadone made me feel like I had the worse hangover in history minus any booze. TCA's don't play well with me for some reason. I haven't heard of the others, so I'll mention them to my pdoc when he's back next week.
Thanks for your response. Much appreciated.

This sounds simplistic but is less trazodone an option? 25mg or 12.5mg can sometimes be effective.

If I remember correctly, it was a small dose of trazadone that I took. I may end up having to take seroquel again but I hate the thoughts of the nightly binging after taking it.
Something interesting happened when I was sharing a hotel room with my friend and her husband. I was snoring like a chainsaw and they told me I stopped breathing to the point where they were going to start shaking me. I'm wondering if I may have something else going on, so will make an appointment with my gp. Probably worth exploring at any rate. AD's make me get fat, fat, fat. I never used to snore until I gained weight. :(

Sleep aphnea. Cure weight loss or check out that thingy that hangs down in the back of your mouth uvula? Something like that. That's not good to stop breathing. Love Phillipa
