After my doc gave me samples to try of an old TCA and it didn't work (just made me eat like a horse)! I went back to taking Adderall during the week. And, of course, it has increasingly made my mood unstable.
The other day after my mother left, I had to take a few asprins and a klonopin I was so stressed out.
I guess I need to talk to my doc about either upping my Geodon in order to stay on low dose Adderall or ditch the Adderall and try something else like Dexadrine?
Is there anyway to take Adderall without it making my mood unstable?
At first it's ok, then as the days on Adderall go on, I become increasingly easily irritable.
I hate that! But Adderall is great for my mood and motivation.

Are you sure its not just a mood cycle instead of the Adderall? For the most part studies show that stimulants don't cause cycling in bipolar patients like antidepressants do.
Try Vyvanse. Its smooth and lasts between 10-12 hours. I never experienced the same kind of irritability as I did on Dexedrine.
BTW, Dexedrine is more likely to make you irritable.

>Adderall is made up of dextroamphetamine (Dexedrine) and amphetamine salts. So you basically are already taking Dexedrine in a way.
The XR version of Adderall for me worked the best - very smooth acting all day and no hard crash. I'm on Adderall IR now and even though I really like it - it gives me some ups and downs because I have to take it 3x daily. But I still think it's better than Dexedrine. However, your milage may vary.
It also depends on how much Adderall you're taking....? And the Geodon? Geodon is supposed to be sedating at the 80mg BID dosage range.

I take a small dose of Adderall and it does tend to make me a little hyper. Why is that?
It helps with my depression, focus, motivation, but if I go any higher than 10mg, I can't sleep.
I tried Vyvanse and I definitely couldn't sleep when I took it.
Ugh!

Maybe anxiety? It's a real side effect for many. Are you ADD, ADHD?
Vyvvanse was a wash? I was going to second Phiddippus. Have you tried it with current meds?

Have you ever tried chasing your stimulant with CLonidine or Intuniv? They are taken at night after your stimulant wears off and can help with insomnia.
