Sorry, I hardly ever post. But I have a question about remeron. I hear it's supposed to help with sleep at lower doses, but the low dose didn't help me. I am on 60 mgs and still no sleep. Has anyone gone 'up' to 75mgs and been able to sleep? I haven't had any weight gain and I think the upper dose is 60 mgs, but has anyone gone up to 75mgs with success in sleeping?
Thx,
Lois

Lois hi I see your thread has gone unanswered. I don't know about others experiences with remeron but for me even with benzos remeron at l5mg didn't help me sleep either. I never took higher doses. They say higher doses are less tiring so I don't know but do hope others chime in with their experiences. Phillipa

If you're not gaining sleep benefit now, you won't at the highest dose either.

Typically 15mg is more sedating than 30mg. From the reports I've heard, 7.5 is more sedating than 15mg.
Have you ever tried 7.5mg (or even 3.75mg)?

I dosed back to 30 mgs last night. I plan to do backwards again and give it more time. Seroquel was the only thing that helped me sleep and I had to go off it due to vision problems.

Increasing the dose about 30mg does not improve Remeron's sedative effect. Sometimes, higher doses can cause restlessness and agitation. Increasing from 60mg to 75mg will almost certainly not help you sleep. I think it would be best to switch to a different treatment entirely.

Yes, try 15mg and 7.5mg to see whether the low doses are better.. If it doesn't help, switch to something else. Remeron should work for sleep very quickly, so if it's not helping there is no reason to persist with it.

It sounds like you have tried 15 mgs before. I don't know if you tried half a 15mg pill, but could work better, or even a quarter of it. The higher you go the more stimulating, in theory, it gets.

I am going down to 15 mgs tonight. I also tried 7.5 mgs before and got 'some' sleep on it. 1/4 tablet sounds like a good try. So I might try that as I come down on it.
Thx,
Lois

I felt more sleepy at 30 than at 15, and more at 15 than at 7.5.
Whatever you do, come down slowly on it.

> LoisHi,
I'm on 45 mg of Remeron and sleep okay,
but 60 mg of this drug won't give more sedation. There is no point to increase the dose from 60 mg to 75 mg.
You still won't sleep. But you might try to add a low dose of Lyrica (25 - 100 mg).
Remeron and Lyrica is a good combo which promotes sleep.Best regards,
X-rayWellbutrin XL 150 mg
Remeron 45 mg
Lyrica 50 mg
Fluanxol 0,5 mg

Lois try googling med checker and put all your meds in and see if they are all compatible. Phillipa

Maybe this drug is not for you.Remeron and Seroquel is a bad combo that will give you a hangover.

I took 7.5 mgs last night and got much better sleep. I woke up in the middle of the night as I usually do, but it helped me get to sleep and I slept more than usual. Yea!
This is the end of the thread.
