In praise of Orthomolecular...

Posted by Christ_empowered on September 16, 2013, at 17:09:15

Seriously. My vitamin line up costs maybe $100/month. I used to be state mental hospital material, now I'm bright eyed, I have energy, no TD or stiff gait, my skin's looking good, my hair grew back, and I'm down to 2 daily meds and low-dose PRN Neurontin (supposed to be a daily thing, but not usually necessary...).

I recommend it...to everyone! Give it a minute to work. By all means, take your meds with it. After a while, you might not need meds, or you may need fewer meds, lower doses of your meds, or you may be able to take something PRN.

I'm hoping to get to the point where I'm off meds. The truth about tranquilizers is that they don't really facilitate recovery; they just control agitation and psychosis and provide a bit of anxiety relief (unless you become MORE anxious from the dopamine blockade).

I've seen the absolute worst that psychiatry has to offer, and I must say that Orthomolecular provides a viable, humane alternative.
