zyprexa is confusing changing its effects

Posted by rjlockhart37 on February 1, 2015, at 0:24:34

i've been on 20mg for now 4 years, for a long period my body had a resistance to it, but after praying, over ahd over, now it does haave effect, but it totally knocks me out at night, i mean not natural like sleep, it's a antipsychotic version of serconal, when it startss to take effect i feel less cluttered nd my brain is back to earth, and then slowly it causes me to get way down, crave candy and soda drinks.....and i've started noticing falling asleep on the couch passed out, and realising it's 3 am in the morning and i didnt make it to my bed......hard knock out

it never did that before, when i started zyprexa at 20mg i jut noticed it made my thoughts less cluttered, and relaxed thinking........i felt more stable, but now it's a knock out medicine, makes me sedated the next day.....

but i like i've previouwly been saying that the resistance of the meds, the zyprexa does work, but the prozac nuvigil they have hardly any effect, and this is such a messy case, being depressed and then meds a resistance, but sedated by zpyrexa.....

zyprexa is efferctive to put someone out at 30mg that is manic.....reduce dopamine and serotonin

but i've always noticed zyprexa over 30mg causes me to shake like i have parakinson's diesease, i jerk and studder.....it's something with TD, so 20mg is just fine but i seriously think i should reduce because of the sedation, and the seation is not fun.....

Hi RJ,

So, are you pleased that Zyprexa feels strong at the moment? And would you like to reduce? What are you actually on the high dose for?

I get the impression that you find Zyprexa calming, but too sedating... and that it's rather problematic how much the sedated feeling persists the following day.

yea.....the only time, like even last night, i took it, and i just layed there and realized again, i passed out for 3 hours and didnt turn the lights off.....it didnt ever do that before, it would just....make my thoughts clear, calm me down a bit but not like a horse pill to knock me out where ever i am......

but i think, just like with the other medication, the next day its like my body levelizes the meds, and making it less sensitive to the effects, yet maybe it can be working, it doenst work like it did a while back.....i've been having to deal with medication resistance since 2010.....the zyprexa was resistant for a while, now it totally knocks me out but the other meds have no noticed effects.....

zyprexa can cause diabeties too.....maybne i need to get off it

It's common for the effects to be strongest for several hours after taking the dose, when the amount of drug in your body is highest. The effects might not be as strong the next day. This is all normal RJ.

It sounds like you should discuss the Zyprexa situation with your doctor though..... since taking 20mg at once is knocking you out, the dose may need to be reconsidered.

Didn't give me diabeties. I just checked my blood sugar after 2 bowls of cereal. It was 130.

Geodon gave me diabetes. Which got blamed on the zyprexa untill they took me off geodon and it went away. Geodon also gave me blurry vision, that didn't totaly go away. I was 20/10 before, now I need glasses. What a horable med..
