Tegreto /Trileptal Geodon questions...

Posted by Sheilac on September 12, 2015, at 13:53:16

I have neuropathy and have tried the usual meds (Lyrica, neurontin, etc.) and they didn't help.

I noticed when I took Trileptel it helped with my neuropathy.

My main med is Geodon and it has been a miracle for my depression. Since going to 160mg I'm really stable and feel good.

I know Trileptal can reduce Geodon in the body, does Tegretol do the same thing?

I just remember Tegretol kept me stuffy and sinus-y. Like it cancelled out my allergy & asthma meds. I didn't stick with it long enough to see if it would go away. I take a lot of antihistamines for my Interstial Cystitis and my allergies & asthma, I don't want to cancel those out. Any ideas?

Also, my main reason for not being able to stick with Trileptal is that it causes really awful joint pain and muscle pain. Maybe due to low sodium? I'm not a salt eater at all?

Since Trileptal worked for my neuropathy I'm wondering if Tegretol would? Or would it still give me the joint & muscle pain that Trileptal does?

Tegretol and Trileptal are very different. You won't experience the same side effects on Tegretol that you would on Trileptal. You do need blood monitoring on Tegretol. It also works for neuropathy.
