it was a suggestion out of left field as lamictal stops the intense sad but does nothing for my drive and apathy.
And I was expecting an effexor Rx (got that too). Any experiences...effective? Cognitive side effects?

Hmm. This is one med that I haven't taken. From what I hear, it can work really well for some.
Side effects are possible 'sleep attacks' and increased urges to gamble.
I take Effexor. It doesn't do a whole lot for apathy in my opinion.
I would personally give Mirapex a whirl.

I became extremely sleepy on miraprex.
Just so you know that it's one side effect that some get.
