Articles suggesting clozapine is a D1 agonist or antagonist both exist. Is there any conclusive data?
I'm interested in low dose, maybe with a CYP1A2 inducer to increase desmethylclozapine.
How about lumateperone. Mechanism via D1 often discussed, but nothing conclusive about intrinsic efficacy that I've found yet. --My concentration is very bad tho.

caplyta interests me, kinda sorta. i mean...for me, a major tranquilizer/neuroleptic is pretty much a fact of life. big question? which one.
personally...unless you're state hospital material or close to it, I'd skip clozapine. that's been my approach. toxic, densely sedating, lots of monitoring, loads of drug-drug interactions.
i forget now, but one of the older "atypicals" is very similar to clozapine...olanzapine, maybe? quetiapine? at any rate, if you're looking to low dose it, I'd try to ask the doctor about one of those, first. surmontil is apparently somewhat clozapine-ish, and it can provide relief of some forms of depression and is also an effective sleeping pill for some people.
but yeah...caplyta. I've been genuinely curious about this one, too. aripiprazole is a-ok, but...I am concerned I may be having restlessness (not akathisia level), and...that's a problem.
please let us all know what your prescriber decides upon and how it works out for you.
