Is there a FAQ on Psycho-Babble statistics?
Why would registered handles go down from August 2001 to January 2002, then up again?
Has growth in registered handles flattened out?
Thanks.

No, since only two questions have ever been asked about it. :-)
> Why would registered handles go down from August 2001 to January 2002
Because the explicit informed consent business was added sometime in there.

The numbers are there, what do you think?

I may not be reading the statistics correctly. I guess I would think that the number of registered handles accumulates over time. Is there any mechanism for expiration of registered handles? If you compare August 2001 registered handles (4138) to April 2002 (4294) that looks pretty flat, but it would surprise me if the popularity of your site has flattened out. Also, I can't figure out from the numbers pertaining to postings how the level of participation has changed.I got interested in these stats after reading your article and I wondered how the site has grown since you wrote that article and to what extent, if any, your site has been a victim of its own success.
I think your site is terrific, and also a fascinating internet phenomenon.
No need to respond to this.

Sorry, I spoke too soon. The total went down between 8/01 and 1/02 because the registered + confirmed - posted category, 1057 in 8/01, was dropped.
In the past, I recycled posting names if they weren't confirmed after a while. I may start doing that even if they're confirmed if they don't post...

Then, to do an apples-to-apples comparison between November 2000 and April 2002, should "confirmed but haven't posted" (363 in Nov 2000) be subtracted from registered handles (1405 in Nov 2000), leaving 1042 Nov 2000 registered handles compared to 4294 April 2002 registered handles? Are there stats for traffic?

I just this minute discovered by accident that your "Statistics" link at the top of the page links to different, and more, info than the "Psycho-Babble Statistics" link at the bottom of the page.

Which was 1057 or something like that?
