I know this sounds really ignorant perhaps. But I have been reading a lot about blocks. Do you only get blocked if you are uncivil? What kind of things do you get blocked on this site for? I wouldn't want to every say anything wrong to get blocked, and certainly wouldn't ever want to come across as uncivil. Anyways, thanks.
Peace

You always get at least one Please Be Civil in your posting career, no matter what, before a block.

unfortunately...the reasons don't always seem clear, sometimes it quite obvious, sometimes not,
politics is an especially sticky area, as well as faith
I get too upset there...I can't stay "civil"

HI Sleepygirl,
Yes I have a fear that somehow I will say something that I think is completely civil even after reading the civil faq posts by Dr. Bob. I am usually always civil as far as I know and I will not be joining the politics arena for awhile. I did visit the faith board. I just hope I do what is considered "civil" on the board and not mess up. Peace and thank you

Yeah, I agree with Sleepygirl - politics and faith are WAY too loaded for me to handle them politely. I know for sure I would get myself in trouble on those boards, so I stay away. Reading them is interesting, but I usually don't even do that because I know myself, and I'd probably end up reacting to something before thinking.
Even in real life, those are such sticky topics for me! I tend to get really passionate about certain topics, and then it's hard for me to argue rationally and not get personal. My family is all the same way, so sometimes we have real doozies of arguments at family gatherings. :)
