hi folks, i'm a newbie ;-)
i really enjoying reading this board.
i ordered vitamin shoppes niacinamide 500 mg capsules. do i take it on an empty stomach or with a meal? has niacinamide helped any of you good folks? i wanta kick the ativan habit, and am hoping niacinamide will help. i've tried l-theanine, but don't feel it has helped.
kava kava doesn't seem to be worth the money.

Check out the "side effects and toxicity" on page 2. It doesn't say to take it with food or without.
I do both. I find it noticeable when taken on an empty stomach, otherwise not. The antianxiety effect feels quite mild to me. If I'm trying to sleep, I sometimes take it with glycine. That feels pretty good. I didn't know it was a GABA booster, so maybe next time I'll try it with GABA.
Do you already take magnesium? It's also good for stress.

do you think a quarter of 1 mg of ativan and 1500 mg of niacinamide a day would be safe?
i currently take 3 capsules of magnesium taurate a day, not sure if it helps my anxiety. i think its been helping my high blood pressure though.

> fredIt's probably safe. Niacinamide therapies, under doctors' supervision, can go much higher in dose. Individual differences can make any specific dose problematic. The upper dose, for which there is unlikely to be an adverse effect, is 500 mg, four times a day.
