Caffeine for amphetamine withdrawl

Posted by mmcconathy on February 26, 2005, at 15:20:30

I have tooken 200mg of No-Doz daily for amphetamine withdrawl, it has worked ok, i dont think about the "stimulation".

I also take L-Tyrosine 1500-3000mg for dopamine depletion at times, it does resemble the effect of amphetamine when taken with caffiene, not exactly, there is more lightheadedness as a side effect, but besides that it does work.

Anyone have a similar experience?

That's what I did to withdrawal from Adderall XR 30mg. 3g tryosine twice a day, and 600-800mg of caffeine a day. I still felt like garbage for 3 or 4 days but the tyrosine and caffeine definitely helped.

The best amphetamine substitute is, IMHO, high-dose tranylcypromine (Parnate). Shoot for a target dose of 90-200mg/day. If that is not enough, combine it with a NE reuptake inhibitor (reboxetine, desipramine) and/or a dopamine releasing agent (amantadine) and/or a direct DA agonist (bromocriptine, pramipexole, ropinirole, cabergoline).
