Inositol with Prozac?

Posted by Red_Rach on February 12, 2006, at 7:31:52

Will it be safe to take inosital with prozac? Ive read a lot about Inositol on the internet, and all the feedback seems to be good. Ive currenly got some 650mg tablets and some powder on the way.
Is it safe to take them together or is there is risk of Serotonin Syndrome.

I was also wondering if people had a good or bad effect for inositol.

I am thinking of starting on a very low dose to see if I can tolerate it, esp as some people have mentioned being Zombie like!

Hi
I've taken up to 2000mgs. of inositol with prozac, spaced in 2 doses, and had no problem, i found it very relaxing, but i wanted to work up to a much higher dose for my ocd, then read that the combination wasn't any better that the 2 seperatly, so the expense would be too much.

but i don't think you have big worries about serotonin syndrome, it is not like trytophan, but does act to desensitise receptors. anyway, at a low dose, up to 2 grams, i think you will find it helpful with anxiety..john
