Has anyone seen an endocrinologist for their thyroid and depression and anxiety. There is a genetic link I saw a therapist yesterday and she thinks my problems are or could be more physical than mental. So what tests would ask for. Never had a scan, Mother died of Addison's disease was thingking cortisol, and then all my problems began with the thyroid and perimenopause and menopause does an endo do hormone testing too? And I have a small tumor the radiologists said to ignore on my pituitary gland. I have an unread MRI from two years ago with that. Anything else I should ask for? And I've got to conquer this anxiety and depression as I'm a prisoner in my own house. Thanks love Phillipa

Give the endo your history. He/she should know what tests to run. endo's tend to take very long histories with lots of questions.

Yes, all harmones are part of the endo specility. And I have a small tumor the radiologists said to ignore on my pituitary gland. I have an unread MRI from two years ago with that. Anything else I should ask for?
Make sure you should mention the tumor.Endo is a very very complex field, as complex as neurology. However it is far better understood that neurology. Put your energy into getting a referal to someone good. They should know what tests to run based on your history.

Notfred is that really true? You give me some hope as ad's don't work I'm sure you already know from the other board. I have the old MRI's. I just hope this good guy's office fixes their computers so they can make appointments as they now have the referral paperwork but said they couldn't make appointments. It's been a week since the process started how long do you think it will take for an appointment? Love Phillipa
