I really need to know how long and when the risk of seizures (grand mal) are in the duration of phases of xanal withdrawal. The particular case is a 31 year old male who's been poppin xanax like candy for the last three months and drinking heavily for longer. Three days ago he chose to quit both COLD TURK and it's been real rough going since. It's awesome that he is getting his shit together, but from what we've learned so far, it's going to be a long process. I am especially concerned with the risk of seizures since they appear in people who have tapered off of xanax before stopping. We could use any advice.

Hi Booty,
It can get a bit confusing here sometimes. This site has several boards. This is the board concerning therapy and psychology. I think you were probably looking for the medication board, Psycho-Babble.
You can follow the links at the top of the page or go directly to your post at

Hope this helps
