Locally a mother killed her 4 little kids and tried to kill herself, she is in a mental hospital.
It just reminds of me of my childhood and how I could have been in a story like that as a child.
Then it was said that 60% of child's deaths are due to murder from a parent. I guess I don't know what I am feeling right now. :( Maybe the kids in a way are in a better place than dealing with a future of an abusive past as an adult.

That is a very sad story and it's true that painful memories can get triggered by stuff like this.
Your children are lucky they have a mother who is looking after herself and them, by taking care of her mental health.

that story made me swallow very hard.
I think both of us know what it is like to have a mentally ill mother.
I guess we are the lucky ones.
Hug your kids and be proud of yourself for what you have accomplished in your life.
If I had kids I would go hug them too. Until then, a big hug for the pets!
