but i really need help with my homework (and geez louise (kath!) i haven't had homeowrk in a while either).
my last session (sorry, giving the setup here) i cussed and discussed my issues with meds interfering with my creativity. so, my homework is this:
find out how many aritsts, wirters, ect took meds and how it affected their abitities to write, ect. what? how's that for an assignment? like everyone advertises that they take psych meds when they publish, produce, ect.
anyone even know where i can start? i started with google, but came up with very little to work with.
got a deadline her e:hey, i'm much better under pressure folks. i've f*rted around on babble for about 3 weeks and my session is wednesday at 9 am.
any idea where to even get started? she (i'll call her mrs. bubba because she bears a striking resemeblence to my first therapist bubba. any others have an experience like that? finding their therapsits look alike, despite different towns?) so, actually, i'll call her femme bubba wanted me to go to the library. don't see me hauling a 10 month old there with me (did it a few times when he wasn't teething and that was fine) but this is a small town with smaller library.
please, help me. i'm drowning in lack of ideas and ideas of catastrophes here! (bad enough she also wants me to bring in some of my (what i like to call 'child art on acid' pics in too) pics i drew, but i need to get this homeowrk done too.
so strange to be back on this board. this is where i got my start here on babbble! dear god, shall i...... never mind :)

So nice to hear from you! I hope things are going well with the baby.
Check out "The Midnight Disease" by Alice W. Flaherty. she discusses mental health and creativity. I don't know if meds are specifically mentioned as I haven't actually read it, except in pieces, but I know she mentions Sylvia Plath, Woody Allen and others.
take care,
antigua

Hi, haven't seen your name for a while. Glad to hear that creatvity is on the cards for you. Here are a couple of books that you might like to look at:
"An Unquiet Mind" by Kay Redfield Jamison, and "The Loony Bin Trip" by Kate Millett. The second book is anti-med.
Hope they help.

Most libraries will do reference over the phone. If I wasn't so far behind today, I'd try to do it for you (but I'm not very good at reference...)
Try calling a larger library, who will be more likely to have someone who does reference full time.
This is the end of the thread.
