Hi-I was just wondering if someone could help show me how to send private messages to people on this site? I have been reading through the past posted messages and wanted to respond directly to a person instead of posting for everyone--is there a way to do this? maybe this isn't the purpose of this website (sorry) thanks!

The instructions are here:
http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/faq.html#options
But here's my version:
To send a Babblemail, open any post of the poster you want to mail. If their name is clickable, their Babblemail is on. Click on their name and a new window will open - the Babblemail form - where you type your message. These messages are handled automatically by the sever and to ensure privacy, they will go the email addresses used when you and others registered, but you will never see each others' email addresses. You can't reply using the Reply function of your email. If you do, it'll just go to the server, i.e., to nowhere. So, be sure to click the link within the message which reminds you of this, to reply by Babblemail. Feel free to use me as a test subject if you like. My Babblemail is always on.
Your Babblemail is off now. I can tell because your posting name is not a link. When it's on, your posting name within a post I have open will be a clickable link (lit up blue for me, may be other colors for others)
To turn your Babblemail on, as it says in the FAQ, you will have to go here:
https://dr-bob.securesites.com/cgi-bin/pb/signup.pl
and update your registration, changing
the setting from Babblemail OFF to ON.I'v likely confused you more. Hope you can get it to work....

My sincere apologies if you've been around for a long time. My brain isn't what it used to be. Or perhaps it never was.
If you feel comfortable, I'd love to hear more about your own story. But no pressure. :)
This is the end of the thread.
