Woot! I have an excellent therapist after a decade of searching and being frustrated or worse by poor fit or poor quality. Even though this board is kinda kaput, I wanted to share.
Good therapy is amazing!

May I ask what type of therapy you will be doing? I've recently started therapy myself. I think she's probably very good but I feel stuck. Locked up is how I describe it. Any tips you want to share as to what makes "good therapy" work? I think it was you that recommended DBT for me. What do you like about that particular therapy?
Anyway good for you :)

I'm happy for you. I am a big believer in therapy is you can find someone comfortable to work with. Both dynamic and DBT helped me unbelievably. They didn't cure my depression (which I believe is mostly a biological issue), but they helped with all the underlying fears and shame that gave it content and power and they taught me how to cope with really dark thoughts.
